Severe Thunderstorm Warning Has Been Issued

According to the Weather Channel, a sever thunderstorm warning has been issued for... Central Ocean County in southern New Jersey... East central Burlington County in southern New Jersey.

At 724 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Warren Grove, or 22 miles southwest of Toms River, moving northeast at 50 mph.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
HAZARD...Quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible.

Locations impacted include... Toms River, Barnegat, Beachwood, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Seaside Heights, Mantoloking, Dover Beaches North, Holiday City South, Warren Grove, Leisure Village East, Dover Beaches South, Brick Township, Brookville, Bass River State Forest, Penn State Forest, Beach Haven West, Holiday City-Berkeley, Point Pleasant, and Brielle.

This includes Garden State Parkway between mile markers 55 and 87.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
