Small Acts of Kindness Don’t Go Unnoticed in Toms River

Sanitation Worker in Toms River is Praised for His Kindness

A sanitation worker at the Toms River Publics Works Department is praised for his act of kindness. Erica Cirillo, a resident of Toms River recently posted on her facebook video surveillance of the worker helping her family.

It was garbage collection day and the Cirillo family forgot to put out their cans that were filled to the top with garbage. Everyone has those days where you forget to put out your cans, however, the Cirillo family had a very rough month as their daughter had recently come home after spending 15 days in intensive care in the hospital. They were all exhausted and taking out the garbage was the last thing on their mind.

Mr. Mike Scalley, a Toms River Public Works employee made their day due to his random act of kindness. He got out of his truck, grabbed their cans and pulled them to the curb, and emptied them for them.

According to the Toms River Patch, Mayor Mo Hill showed his appreciation to his employee by giving him a Certificate of Appreciation.
