Stay Alert: Winter Storm Warning in Ocean County

A winter storm warning for Ocean County is in effect through Friday afternoon, according to the Mount Holly office of the National Weather Service. The most recent forecast from the Mount Holly office of the National Weather Service states that snowfall should start around 4 a.m. For Ocean County, a winter storm warning has been issued.

A coastal low that is forming off the Mid-Atlantic coast on Friday will receive some energy transfer from an area of low pressure that is passing across the Ohio Valley. This is going to bring snow to our area. This one may not start out with a lot of snowfall, but as the day wears on, the amount should increase.

It is anticipated that the first snow showers will arrive between 4 and 5 a.m. For the first part of the morning commute, light and scattered snowfall is predicted.

As the morning wears on, the snowfall steadily increases and stays that way until the afternoon. Certain areas of the area may see some heavy snowfall in the afternoon.

It is anticipated that the snow will end during the evening hours. Visit Weather In Your Area.
