Stay Vigilant Ocean County Residents Against Rising Scam Emails
The Ocean County Prosecutors Office, is alerting residents about a rise in fraudulent emails stating that your computer has been infected with malware and that, unless you pay thousands of dollars in Bitcoin, footage of your online behavior will be shared with your family, friends, or job.
These are phony communications. In the hopes that someone will become alarmed and pay, they are delivered in large quantities to thousands, if not millions, of people.
