Successful Outcome: Man Threatening Self Found Safe in Cattus Island Park

According to Toms River Police, on Thursday that a man from Toms River who had been making threats against himself was discovered safe and removed out of the woods near Yellowbank Road on Tuesday evening.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, the 20-year-old man's girlfriend called Toms River police to report that he was acting erratically and making unreasonable claims, according to Sgt. Gene Bachonski.

Bachonski added that she reported seeing him headed towards Cattus Island County Park and warned responding authorities that he might be carrying a weapon.

At 6:37 p.m., he said, officers using drone surveillance from the Toms River Police Department conducted a search and discovered the man unhurt at Mosquito Cove's edge.

According to him, the individual was brought to Community Medical Center for assessment.
