Thunderstorms Set to Strike New Jersey Again
On Saturday, New Jersey will have a little respite from the recent run of extreme heat, oppressive humidity, and thunderstorm threats. However, the dry, peaceful weather is short-lived.
The
National Weather Service predicts that Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening will see another round of showers and thunderstorms, some of which may become severe.
All of New Jersey is under a modest risk of severe weather on Sunday, according to the Storm Prediction Center. This means that isolated severe storms might occur between around 4 and 11 p.m.
According to the weather service, fast-moving storms could help reduce the potential of localized flash floods along the state's metropolitan corridor on Sunday.
A slight increase in humidity are predicted for Sunday, though they won't be as bad as they were last week.
Due to a new moon causing higher-than-normal tides that will result in widespread minor coastal flooding during the evening high tide cycles, a coastal flood advisory is in effect from 6 p.m. on Saturday until midnight along parts of the Delaware Bay in Cumberland County and along New Jersey's Atlantic coastal zones.
