Toms River Man Arrested After Multi-County High-Speed Chase

Dramatic Rescue: Woman's Car Submerged in Ocean County Waters

After passing through eight towns and two counties, the frantic pursuit that started outside a Howell steakhouse on Saturday night came to an early finish on Sunday morning.

Zac Hartman, 38, of Toms River was operating a U-Haul, according to the police.

News12NJ has exclusive footage of the chase and according to witnesses, it started when he became upset about having to wait for a steak at Longhorn. After that, Hartman is said to have backed into a Howell police cruiser and started a two-hour chase through the northern and southern counties of Ocean and Monmouth. The chase concluded in Jackson Township.

Hartman is in Monmouth County jail awaiting a detention hearing.
