Jesse Rucci, 39, is Accused of Stabbing a Female Driver in Toms River
According to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, on April 5, 2022, a Toms River man has been ordered held until his trial on a charge of attempted murder in the stabbing of a lady on March 23 in Toms River.
Superior Court Judge Michael T. Collins ordered Jesse Rucci, 39, to be jailed on counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
Officers from the Toms River Township Police Department were dispatched to the area of North Bay Avenue and Whitty Road at around 4:45 p.m. on March 23, 2022, for a complaint of a physical fight on the side of the road.
Rucci, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time, began
stabbing the female driver, according to the inquiry. When the driver was able to pull over to the side of the road and exit the vehicle, Rucci pursued her and assaulted her.
Rucci was restrained until the officers came by a nearby citizen who witnessed the incident. The injured female victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment.
Rucci was apprehended on the spot and has been held in the
Ocean County Jail since his arrest. Assistant Prosecutor Victoria Esler presided over the detention hearing.
The charges mentioned above are only accusations, and all defendants are deemed innocent unless and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
