According to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, Officers from the Manchester Township Police Department were sent to the area of Whitesville Road and Route 571 on March 29, 2022, at about 7:15 a.m., for a report of a motor vehicle crash with a fatality. Four automobiles were involved in the incident, according to responding officers.

Danielle Bowker, 30, of Toms River, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic westbound on Route 571 when she failed to maintain her lane of travel while negotiating a right-hand curve, according to an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Vehicular Homicide Unit, Manchester Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.

The Honda Civic then collided with a New Jersey Department of Transportation Ford F-550 pickup truck driven by Eduardo Rivera, 30, of Hamilton Township, as it traveled eastbound on Route 571; Daniel Septor, 26, of Upper Freehold Township's Cream Ridge neighborhood, was a passenger in the Ford F-550.

As a result, the Ford F-550 lost directional control and collided with Michael Sadis, 48, of Toms River, who was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry. The Camry was pushed off the road and into an embankment. The Ford F-550 continued in the same way and collided with Paul Lambert, 58, of Toms River, who was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla.

Ms. Bowker, Mr. Rivera, and Mr. Septor were sent to Community Medical Center in Toms River for minor injuries as a result of the accident. Mr. Lambert was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune and is in critical condition at this time. Mr. Sadis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
