Toms River Man Sentenced for Heroin Distribution

Zachary D. Lockwood, 25

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said on Friday that a Toms River man had been found guilty of distributing heroin in Ocean County and had been sentenced to ten years in state prison.

Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer stated that Zachary D. Lockwood, 25, was given a one-year prison sentence by Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan on Friday for possessing a half-ounce or more of heroin with the intention of distributing it.

Ryan also sentenced Lockwood to time served on a charge of resisting arrest in an investigation that took place in July and August of 2023, as well as five years in prison with five years of parole ineligibility on the charge of being a specific person not to possess a weapon, according to Billhimer.

According to Billhimer, Ryan sentenced Lockwood to five years in jail after he admitted guilt to fleeing authorities in a separate incident on September 26, 2023, in Toms River. In February, Lockwood entered a guilty plea to the charges.

All of the sentences are to run concurrently.
