Toms River Native, Justine Pissott, Drafted by WNBA

On Monday night, the Indiana Fever selected Justine Pissott, a senior in Vanderbilt women's basketball, with the 25th overall pick in the second round of the 2026 WNBA Draft.

Justine was born in Toms River, New Jersey. After playing basketball for Red Bank Catholic in high school, she transferred to Vanderbilt after playing for Tennessee in college.

It's thrilling to watch a local Jersey athlete succeed; in fact, Jersey is home to a number of well-known athletes.

Pissott was the 25th overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft and was chosen by the Fever as the 10th pick in the second round. Under fifth-year Commodore head coach Shea Ralph, she is the first Vanderbilt player selected in the WNBA draft.

Pissott is the 14th player from Vanderbilt to be chosen in a WNBA draft overall. Her selection is the first time a Vanderbilt women's basketball player has had her name called since the 2014 WNBA Draft, when the Minnesota Lynx selected Christina Foggie with the 24th overall choice in the second round.
