On June 30th, a motorcycle crash on Route 70 injured a Toms River police officer, according to authorities.

According to Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith, officials are looking into the motorcycle crash involving a police officer.

It was a Toms River police officer who was on duty at the time of the collision, which occurred just across the border in Lakewood at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Route 70, according to Jillian Messina, public relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

The officer, according to Messina, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center; Citta Elementary School served as the medivac landing zone, hence the Route 9-Cox Cro Road traffic alert, according to her.
