Sailfest is the largest event hosted by the Rotary Club of Toms River, and it helps to make a difference in our lovely town. The Tom's River Rotary Foundation donates 100% of the proceeds to local organizations.

It began in 1991 as a tiny sailboat race and shore party at Toms River's Huddy Park. Sailfest had expanded to the point where it had to be relocated to River Avenue in Island Heights in 1995. Since then, it has evolved to become one of the best Family Fun Days at the Jersey Shore, with over 15,000 attendees each year. Early in the day, a sailing event takes place at the Toms River Yacht Club, with two winners' cups being presented. The Sailfest Cup is awarded to the winner of the PHRF Fleet. The Governor's Cup is awarded to the champion of the A-Cat Class.

On land, the day begins with a Veterans / 9-11 Reflection Ceremony on the main stage, honoring men and women who have served our country or who died as a result of the events of September 11th. The Reflection Ceremony concludes with a short parade led by the Island Heights Fire Department to Letter Park, where a symbolic wreath will be laid.

The land event has changed over the years, but typically includes:

A fantastic food area with unique food trucks from throughout the region

The Kids Zone – inflatables, face painting, picture cuts outs of mermaids and pirates and a raffle just for the kids

All day musical entertainment culminating with a big name concert between 6:30-10pm
