Tracking the NJ Nor'Easter: Here is What to Expect

According to Accuweather Saturday in New Jersey, a strong nor'easter storm will bring severe floods and strong winds of up to 45 mph that might bring down trees and cause power outages. Expect several inches of rain around the state.

The National Weather Service predicts that the storm, which is the product of two systems combining on the Atlantic coast, will start on Friday after midnight and proceed northward as the temperature drops into the low 30s. There's even a chance of snowfall in North Jersey before the weather turns rainy. At the Jersey Shore, up to four inches of rain are predicted.

With peak rainfall rates of a quarter to a half inch per hour, the heaviest rainfall is predicted for Saturday afternoon, challenging daily and monthly rainfall records, according to forecasters. Mid-Saturday is also predicted to see the highest wind gusts. By Saturday night, the rain is expected to gradually shift from the southwest to the northeast.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all 21 of New Jersey's counties through Sunday AM.

Sunday daytime temperatures slated to be in the sunny 40s. Garden State residents should enjoy the dry weather before another system could impact the region in the middle of next week, forecasters said.
