For many zoning, safety, and code breaches, Toms River officials have revoked Top Tier Hookha's Certificate of Occupancy, according to Mayor Maurice B. Hill.
Due to several complaints, our Quality of Life Task Force has been looking into this business, according to Mayor Hill. "The Task Force discovered a number of breaches and gave the business owners instructions to make the establishment compliant. They disregarded those directives. The investigation into the shooting on Saturday revealed that the proprietors of the restaurant were operating against the terms of their allowed status as a retail-only business and had probably made false or deceptive claims in their zoning application. They are no longer allowed to operate or conduct business at 1783 Hooper Ave in the Silverton portion of the Township as a result of their Certificate of Occupancy being cancelled today.
The Township’s Quality of Life Task Force includes representatives of the Police, Fire, Building, Zoning and Code Enforcement departments.
In addition to being shut down, the business owner and property owner have been issued a fine of $4500 and a summons which is answerable in Toms River Municipal Court on September 12.
