Dangerous Storms Could Slam New Jersey

On Saturday, New Jersey will experience extreme summer heat for the second day in a row. However, Saturday may become stormy with the possibility of powerful thunderstorms, in contrast to Friday's dry circumstances.

As temperatures soar into the low 90s and humidity levels rise, forecasters predict that most of the state will stay dry in the morning and afternoon.
However, according to the National Weather Service, isolated thunderstorms may appear in some areas of New Jersey during the afternoon. The potential of storms will increase from early Saturday evening into Saturday night before a cold front passes through our area, even though thunderstorms won't affect the entire state.

According to the meteorological service, some of the storm cells might intensify, bringing with them torrential rains, big hail, and wind gusts of up to 60 mph. That might result in downed power lines and trees.

In many parts of the state, temperatures are predicted to reach the low 90s before the thunderstorms arrive, and the heavy humidity will make it feel even hotter.

According to Storm Prediction Center forecasters, the northern portion of New Jersey is most likely to experience sporadic, perhaps severe thunderstorms.

However, analysts indicate that some powerful thunderstorms may still form in the southern part of the state. Check the upcoming forecast.
