Boston Market in Toms River CLOSED

Boston Market was kicked out of their Route 37 location, where it has been for years, for not paying back taxes and rent.

The building is returned to its owner, Citta Family LP, after a "Final Eviction Notice to Tenants" is put on the restaurant's door.

Rosetto Realty Group in Toms River is now advertising the structure for lease.

The chain's surviving locations in Monmouth County are in Shrewsbury and Howell after the closing of the Route 37 restaurant on the westbound side close to the intersection of Hooper Avenue.

In according with court documents, the restaurant owed taxes for the first three months of this year and the third and fourth quarters of 2022 for the Toms River location. It also owed back rent for the months of February and March.

Documents show that $20,300 is the total amount owing. The eviction document was authorized on April 17 by State Superior Court Judge John M. Doran.

Boston Market has become less prevalent along the Jersey Shore during the past few years.

Boston Market shut down its Brick Boulevard location in January 2020. For 25 years, the restaurant was situated at the Riviera Plaza shopping area. When the COVID-19 epidemic broke out in April 2020, the restaurant's locations in Howell and Middletown were forced to close. Howell reopened subsequently, but Middletown did not.

The most recent change to the neighborhood in Toms River is the closure of Boston Market. 2020 saw the closure of the Perkins restaurant across the street. A pool supply business will occupy half of the structure, with Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers occupying the other.
