Brush Fire Shuts Down Garden State Parkway at Exit 91 in Brick Township

Officials Say a Large Brush Fire Broke out Near Exit 91 on Wednesday Evening.

According to the New Jersey State Police, the Garden State Parkway was closed in both directions in Brick on Wednesday night while personnel responded to a huge fire.

Around 6:20 p.m., the state police tweeted, "Please plan an alternate route as all traffic will be redirected and entry ramps will be closed."

According to the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, emergency responders were on the scene of a brush fire near Exit 91.

Gov. Phil Murphy responded to the event on Twitter, advising "travelers caught in gridlock caused by the fire" to phone 511 or go to 511nj.org for help.
