According to the Toms River Police department a bear has been spotted in Toms River. Toms River police message: Please be aware of bear sightings in the Oak Ridge section of town last night. We have been in contact with the Department of Environmental Protection and they advised us they’ve been tracking the bear through multiple towns. He has not been aggressive and they believe he will continue to move west and out of town by the days end.

GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY Campus Safety observed a bear on campus. The bear was observed near the guardhouse at the front entrance of campus and was walking along the fence line at Ninth St. The bear is currently off campus and walking along the lake at North Lake Dr. If you spot any wild animal on campus and are concerned, please stay away from it and contact the Office of Campus Safety.

The Ocean County Sheriff has announced the dates for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 Ocean County Sheriff's 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽. The camp will take place the week of August 8-12. Spots are limited to 40 and are accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

Some towns are taking new steps to protect from lightning. Now there is a high tech system following a tragedy last summer. State-of-the art equipment atop the building shown in this video is giving beach goers more warning. The system is now at the South Seaside Park section of Berkeley Township. This was the same area where a lightning strike in August killed 19-year-old lifeguard, Keith Pinto, who was on an aluminum stand at the time. Seven others were also hurt at the time of this unfortunate accident.
