The U.S. Marshals Service Philadelphia reports that a missing Cumberland County juvenile has been accused of kidnapping a one-year-old child after she refused to give him back to his mother over the weekend.

The toddler and 16-year-old Vineland resident Akera Johns were last seen in New Jersey on Saturday at the Cumberland Family Shelter on Mays Landing Road. They were observed in Philadelphia on Monday morning near 32nd Street and Susquehanna Avenue, according to investigators.

In an effort to locate the two, the Vineland Police Department and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force are receiving assistance from US Marshals Service Philadelphia.

As a result, the United States Marshals Service stated on Monday night that a 1-year-old boy who had been reported missing in South Jersey was discovered safe in Philadelphia. According to a flier created by the Vineland police, Akera is the child's "family friend."

Akera's height and weight are reported to be 5 feet 10 inches and 140 pounds, with brown eyes, black hair, and braids that are red and black. Her most recent outfit was black trousers, white and black shoes, and a tan jacket.

PLEASE contact the Vineland Police Department if you have any information at 856-696-1212 or 9-1-1.
