Fire Destroys Home

A fire in the Holiday City section of town early Monday morning that burned a home and three vehicles was considered an accident, according to a fire safety officer.

According to John Novak, chief fire inspector for the Toms River Bureau of Incident Safety, the fire at 1833 Mount Juliano Lane was unintentional. He didn't specify what caused the fire.

Friends of the home's owner say she lost everything in the fire and have started a GoFundMe campaign to help her get back on her feet with immediate needs.

A 911 caller and Toms River Police Officer James Manolio, who spotted smoke as he was leaving the scene of a fire on Mount Everest Lane earlier in the evening, reported it at 2:45 a.m. Monday, according to Jillian Messina, public relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.

Messina said Manolio spotted heavy smoke and toured the neighborhood before discovering the fire at the Mount Juliano Lane residence. When police arrived, the residents of the house were outside and safe, she claimed.

The house was severely damaged by fire, and three automobiles in the driveway were destroyed, according to Novak. According to him, the fire also caused damage to the external wall, siding, and windows at 1829 Mount Juliano Lane. According to him, no one was hurt in the fire.

Inspector Matthew Janora of the Toms River Bureau of Fire Prevention and Toms River Police Officer Scott Fallano of the Toms River Police Department performed the investigation.
The fire at the Mount Juliano property has nothing to do with the earlier incident on Mount Everest Lane.
