Teen Arrested in Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson
According to Jackson Police Department, on July 10, 2022, a report of a brawl in progress prompted Jackson Police Officers Parise and Scharff to go to Six Flags Great Adventure's Boardwalk section. As they always do during their operational hours, officers were already providing security for the park.
When they got there, they found a teenager who seemed to be very agitated. The juvenile kid began to yell as officers approached him, telling them he was going to fight and didn't care. The juvenile kid immediately assaulted Police Officer Parise after saying that, and a brief physical altercation followed. After a brief fight, Police Officer Scharff easily subdued the adolescent suspect and took him into custody.
Officers were not aware that the suspect was a minor at the time of the event since he was uncooperative and refused to give any information. The male teenager was charged with the following after being informed of this:
1) Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer
2) Simple Assault
3) Obstruction
4) Resisting Arrest
The teenage male's scratches from the struggle to have him arrested led to a call to Jackson First Aid Squad. The incident resulted in minor injuries to PO Scharff.
The young man was then given to a family member who arrived at the headquarters.
