Plane Crashes at Ocean County Airport

Officials say the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are looking into a small plane crash that happened in Ocean County on Sunday, May 1, 2022.

An FAA representative stated that a single-engine Cessna 172 crashed at Ocean County Airport in Bayville around 6 p.m. with two persons on board. According to the FAA, neither was hurt.

The plane took off from Englishtown's Old Bridge Airport, according to the statement.

According to an FAA report, the plane suffered engine problems before crashing into the airport's outer fence and setting fire. According to the FAA, the entire damage is currently unknown. A pilot and a flight instructor were on board, according to Berkeley Police Sgt. Taylor Butler.
