A Tragic Loss: 10-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot in South Jersey

In Memory of Janice Marie Rourke, 62, of Seaside Park, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025. She will be remembered for her free spirit, thoughtfulness, and love of nature. Friends and those who knew her will remember her as a vibrant, creative individual who followed her own path and loved her family.

The Somers Point Police Department is actively searching for Bryn Rutherford, who has been missing since April 24th, 2025. Bryn was last seen in the Somers Point area and has not been in contact with family or friends since that date.

The Cape May County Park and Zoo is saddened to announce the passing of Cody, an American Black Bear who has resided at the zoo since 2005. Cody was humanely euthanized by our veterinarian staff following a decline in health due to his advanced age.
