The Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce will host its annual "Beers on the Boards" Boardwalk Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant Beach.

An 82-year-old man was killed and his 76-year-old passenger injured after he lost control of his SUV and crashed into a home in Woodland Township on Monday afternoon, authorities said. George C. Sears Jr. was driving south on Route 563 at 2 p.m. when he ran off the road to the right and struck two fences before the vehicle hit the house and burst into flames, State Police said.

Remembering Michael Macchiarella, 50, of Barnegat

Michael Joseph Macchiarella lovingly known as Mike, 50, of Barnegat, died on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Mike was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Middletown, NJ. After graduating from Middletown High School North, he went on to attend Rider University before securing a management position in the concession industry at the University of Virginia. Mike lived in Virginia before eventually relocating home to NJ to be with his family, returning to the place where he could be close to those he loved. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of adventure, appreciation for good food, witty sense of humor and the special bond he shared with his family.
